When it comes to durian, many fans will be deeply attracted by its rich and mellow flavor. 01Enterprise Qualification Overseas Production Enterprise Registration


Overseas production enterprises (including production, processing, and storage enterprises) that export frozen fruits to China must be registered by the General Administration of Customs. They can only export to China after passing the registration by the General Administration of Customs. The list of enterprises that have been registered in China can be queried through 'Registration Information of Overseas Imported Food Production Enterprises'.

Overseas exporter or agent registration

Domestic consignees of imported frozen fruits should register information through the international trade 'single window' or 'Internet + Customs'.

Enterprises can enter the 'Directory of Administrative Counterparts with Specific Qualifications' column through the 'China Customs Enterprise Import and Export Credit Information Disclosure Platform' to check the registration information of overseas exporters or agents of imported food.

02Documents required for declaration


The documents required for import declaration mainly include but are not limited to: official phytosanitary certificates, bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, etc. that meet my country's requirements.


Tips: Imported frozen durian pulp or slurry whose country of origin is Malaysia must provide an official 'Phytosanitary Certificate' that meets the requirements of our country, as well as an official health certificate that meets our country's requirements.


03 On-site inspection

Customs staff conduct on-site inspections in accordance with regulatory requirements and take samples for laboratory testing.


Notes on packaging requirements:

Imported frozen durians should comply with the expected properties of the product and should be free of spoilage, odor, malignant impurities, and abnormal conditions; packaging, labels, and markings should comply with Chinese laws and regulations, national food safety standards, and inspection and quarantine agreements, protocols, memoranda, and other regulations signed between the Chinese government and the governments of the exporting countries or regions.


  • Frozen durians exported to China should be packaged in new, clean and sanitary materials that comply with China’s plant hygiene requirements and safety and hygiene standards.

  • The inner and outer packaging of frozen durian exported to China should be marked with the registration number in China or the registration number approved by the competent authority of the country (region) where it is located.

  • Containers for frozen durians exported to China should have good sanitary conditions.

  • If wooden packaging is used, it must comply with International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM15).


04Conformity assessment

If the imported frozen durian fails to pass the customs conformity assessment, the customs will issue a certificate of failure; if safety, health, and environmental protection items are unqualified, the customs will notify the frozen durian importer in writing and order it to destroy or return the goods; if other items fail, the import will be allowed only after technical processing and meeting the conformity assessment requirements. If the relevant imported frozen durian cannot complete technical processing within the specified time or is still unqualified after technical processing, the customs will order the frozen durian importer to destroy or return the product.
